“Window Breaker” BFAE28006

A short film directed by Tze Chun.

From the very start, the film made me feel tense and curious. I wondered who was breaking windows and why. The story grabbed my attention right away. In just eleven minutes, it showed us a quiet street in a mixed neighborhood. A broken window appears, and everyone starts to worry. I would tell a friend: “It is about a neighborhood that starts to suspect each other after a break‑in.”

The central message is about fear and trust. When we feel afraid, we look for someone to blame. But this can hurt good people. There are small surprises, like when someone suddenly becomes a suspect. These twists teach us to think twice before judging someone.

The characters feel real and believable. We see families and friends talking in their homes. The actors act naturally, as if they were families in real life. I especially liked the young boy who sits on the porch and watches quietly. His eyes show more than words can say. The relationships look normal: parents, children, and friends all trying to understand what is going on.

The cinematography is simple but strong. The camera often uses wide shots to show the whole street. This makes us feel like we are walking there ourselves. Close‑ups on faces help us see worry and hope. The film uses soft light at dawn and dusk to make the street look peaceful and then the broken window seems even more shocking.

Sound and music are quiet but clear. When the glass breaks, the noise is loud in the short silence. The background music is soft, almost like a whisper. This makes the moments of silence feel heavy. Dialogue is easy to hear, and you understand each word without asking anyone to repeat.

Overall, Windowbreaker met my expectations and even surprised me. Its biggest strength is how much it shows in such a short time. We feel the fear, the questions, and the relief all in eleven minutes. It has almost no weaknesses, except that I wish it could run a little longer to know more about each person. I felt curious and thoughtful when it ended. I would tell my friends to watch it. It reminds us to be kind and patient, even when we are afraid.
