DON’T MOVE (A FILM REVIEW BY GODFRED OWUSU)
FILM REVIEW: DON’T MOVE
Set on one fateful night, six friends gather for their monthly 'games night'... and accidentally unleash a demonic force that might tear them - and their friendships - to pieces.
'Don't Move' is the 8th slice in Bloody Cuts' anthology of short horror films, made by a team of UK film-makers on low budgets. Directed by Anthony Melton, Produced by Ben Franklin and written by David Scullion it stars Rachel Bright and Jake Hendriks alongside Kate Braithwaite, Beth Cooper, Ian Whyte, Calvin Dean and Martin Skipper.
The movie DON’T MOVE was very scary . It’s a film full of horror and tragedy There was a bit of sensitivity in it.
In the beginning we see a spinning glass on a table with blood all over the room. The actions of the characters made the story engaging from the beginning.
To summarize the movie in a sentence without spoiling it I would say— The fear to die.
The main central message of the film was to tell the audience how dangerous it could be when you play certain spiritual games.
There wasn’t any unexpected twist in the movie, the film followed a certain path from the beginning to the end which made in more understandable.
Both actors were good in delivery. Their facial expressions and body language was on point making them believable and well-developed. You could feel the emotions being it fear, tiredness or whatever.
The demon stood out negatively by being a reason why the friends died.
There was a compelling relationship between the last guy and the last lady which led to the death of the guy.
Close up shots were used to show the character’s emotions when ever something happened to them. Also medium shots were used to show certain movements of the characters. Bright colours was used in the film to give it the adventurous feel and dramatic sounds to make it more dramatic. The soundtrack of the film enhanced the dramatic performance.
The sounds in the movie played a major role in telling the particular happening or action in the film.
The dialogues moved hand in hand with the sounds which made it more balanced.
At the end, all expectations about the film was met. The message was clear and direct. It also evoked dramatic and tragic emotions. DON’T MOVE is a movie I’ll recommend to people who love horror films because it was entertaining.
