FILM REVIEW: LAZY SUZAN

DIRECTOR: Terry Timely.

The movie Lazy Suzan portrays the sense of adventure and drama. It’s calm and and at some point funny. There was a bit of education and very fun to watch.

      In the beginning we see Suzan sitting down lazily with a dramatic music playing in the background which unveiled the dramatic side of the movie. The transitions from one scene to the next was very impressive which left me engaged in the movie from the very beginning.

    The title of the film explains every thing in the movie even though the ending was a bit twisted. So if I’m to summarize the story in one sentence it would be — The genius lazy girl.

       The main central message of the film is that though laziness is no a habit to consider, it could also be a way of inventing new things that is going to make work easier in our daily lives.

      As the title goes “Lazy Suzan”, everyone watching the film will conclude that at the end, Suzan will be miserable because of her laziness but unexpectedly the film twisted and later Suzan made use of her laziness which got her a job.

     All the characters were good in delivery. Their facial expressions and body language was on point making them believable and well-developed. You could feel the emotions being it happiness, tiredness or whatever.

    Suzan is that one character who stood out positively even though she was lazy and doesn’t like to move a lot, in the end she invented something useful which helped in bringing smiles to other characters in the film.

   Suzan’s sister Annie always had issues with Suzan with regard to the fact that she is the one doing everything in the house. Also, Suzan’s family at a point had issues with her during dinner. This incidents brought some compelling relationship between the characters in the film.

   Close up shots were used to show the character’s emotions when ever something happened to them. Also medium shots were used to show certain movements of the characters. Bright colours was used in the film to give it the adventurous feel and dramatic sounds to make it more dramatic. The soundtrack of the film enhanced the dramatic performance.

   The sounds in the movie played a major role in telling the particular happening or action in the film.

The dialogues moved hand in hand with the sounds which made it more balanced.

    At the end, all expectations about the film was met. The message was clear and direct. It also evoked dramatic, hilarious and adventurous emotions. Lazy Suzan is a movie I’ll recommend to everyone because it educative and entertaining.
